"In the Spotlight"
Denice Beights, Executive Director/Interim Artistic Director

Mrs. Beights has many years of experience in both the     for-profit and not-for-profit sectors and has a diverse background in fundraising, training, management, and volunteerism.  In addition to her role with the FWCC, Mrs. Beights is Adjunct Faculty for IPFW Continuing Studies, and teaches in the Leadership and Supervision series.

She is an active community volunteer and is currently serving as President-Elect of the IPFW Alumni Association Board of Directors. She has been awarded the 2010 IPFW Alumni Citation, is a 2007 graduate of Leadership Fort Wayne and a 2006 Future 40 Award winner.

A saxophonist, Mrs. Beights holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from IPFW.  During her free time, she loves watching Colts football with her husband, Mike, and her son, Joey.

It was overheard that...
* A CONCERT choir member told his school music teacher that she needed to help recruit more singers for FWCC. Why? Because he loves choir and wants more kids to have the opportunity!
* A recording of FWCC singing the National Anthem was played at a local bowl-a-thon this past weekend!
* This past weekend Brandon Porter received a first place for his vocal at the Churubusco Invitational for swing choirs.

Blue Man Group and FWCC??
In mid-March the FWCC choirs will be presenting performances on three different dates. We are encouraging our younger choirs to come and listen to the older choirs and for the older singers to reciprocate. To give them an additional incentive, singers that attend a choir performance, in which they are are not performing, receive a chance to participate in a drawing to see the Blue Man Group in April at the Embassy Theatre. They can increase their chances by having a friend attend a concert as well.

This is where you come in...would you consider making a donation to FWCC to help defray the cost of purchasing Blue Man Group tickets? Your donation will allow us to offer more than one set of tickets for the drawing. Any size donation is welcome! Please call the FWCC office, 481-0481, to make your contribution.
