How can I join the FWCC?
Auditions are held every year in May. Although typically a singer (age 8 to 18) is referred to our program by their school music teacher, anyone with an interest in the choir may call the office to schedule an audition.

How much does it cost?
The price of the nine-month program and Choralfest averages approximately $425 per year plus the cost of the uniform. Tuition assistance is available for those who qualify.

 What is Choralfest?
Our choir season begins with Choralfest, a week-long day camp held on the IPFW campus the beginning of August. Singers experience singing, dancing, playing instruments, team building and special time with guest artists. The week
concludes with a concert on Friday evening at Foellinger Theatre.

When and where are rehearsals?
Rehearsals are held September through May. Rehearsals are usually 90 minutes once a week. The Concert Choir meets for 90 minutes two nights a week. The night of the week is determined by which choir the singer is placed in. Rehearsals are held at different sites throughout Fort Wayne.

Where can I see the choir perform?

During a season, our choirs perform over 50 times throughout the community. The FWCC also performs yearly at Fort Wayne landmarks: the Foellinger Theatre and the Embassy Theatre. Visit www.fwcchoir.org for up-to-date information.

Is previous vocal training required?

Beginning singers are welcome to audition. Each singer is evaluated and placed with other children of similar experience and skill level.

What vocal training will a child receive?

Beginning in the youngest training choir and continuing through the programs for the oldest advanced choirs, singers learn proper vocal production, music reading skills, music theory and musicianship skills. With the increase in the difficulty of music comes an increase in the level of vocal education.
